THROUGH OCTOBER 25: EXPLORE GOD
Explore God will be an church wide event starting September 13 and going to October 25. Explore God creates credible content for people with spiritual questions and curiosities. Who's got those? Seems like just about everybody—including us.
Exploration is at the core of the human condition. We're made to be curious, and we're made to connect in some way with the creator of all this. We will go through different topics as we "Explore God."
Explore God Discussion Groups are designed to create a safe environment where group members can seek credible answers to challenging spiritual questions. These groups discuss some of the most popular questions people have about God, faith, religion and the Bible. Everyone is invited and there is no cost to attend, so join us as we explore God together!

OCTOBER 5: Volunteers Needed for Junior Achievement at Elkins Elementary
Junior Achievement has been conducting an exceptional program for elementary children -- with entertaining lessons about one's self, family, and community while at the same time teaching about jobs, businesses, use of money, and other basics in our society.
There are six sets of five 30-minute lessons designed specifically for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students. All of the high-quality materials for each lesson are provided by Junior Achievement. There are five lessons for each of the grades. What is needed is one volunteer to present the five lessons to one class -- 30 minutes per week for five weeks; scheduling is flexible for the volunteer. If you like kids, it will be the best 30 minutes of your week; the kids enthusiastically respond to these lessons -- great fun for all.
On Monday, Oct 5, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, Priscilla Miller from Junior Achievement will explain the program at the church in Room 108 and answer any questions. Come and learn more about this exciting opportunity to serve Elkins (and possibly other elementaries) and to have a great time interacting with some wonderful kids.

UMW has started gathering items to go into 32 boxes (one for each member) for girls ages 10-14. We challenge you or your family to prepare and turn in at least 1 box for a boy or a girl.
Each box also needs a $7 donation for postage. Or you may donate to pay the postage for other boxes. More information to come on dates to turn in the boxes but you can find suggestions and “do not include items” HERE.

LIGHTHOUSE MEN'S NEWSLETTER
Hey guys, do you want to stay up-to-date on Lighthouse Men’s events? Sign up for our men’s newsletter by clicking the link below. You’ll receive our occasional email newsletter with announcements, events, and more just for Lighthouse Men.
REGISTRATION FOR EVENTS:
As you know, registration is available for most events prior to the event date. Your registration helps us to plan for attendance, supplies and staffing. This planning is crucial in making sure that all of our events are fun, quality events for our members, guests and community. It also ensures that we are able to wisely budget for events.
Without registration we may have to decrease the quantity and caliber of the events we offer. We don't want that to happen. How can you do your part? Please register ASAP for events you plan to attend.
We currently have many events available for registration at www.LFwired.org/register. Please check back often as we will continue to add new events as their registration is available.
