JANUARY 31: Lighthouse Men's Workday

Lighthouse Men’s Workday On Saturday, January 31, the Lighthouse Men will continue work on the storage building at the Eagle Mountain Pregnancy Help Center. All men from Lighthouse Fellowship are invited to help as we repair the floor, the roof, and replace the siding.

Work begins at 9:00 AM and should around noon.

Roll up your sleeves and give!! On February 1st from 8:30am-12:30pm Carter BloodCare will be parked up close in front just so you can’t miss them!

Here are some basic facts: The average adult has 10-12 pints of blood traveling all over his or her body through the heart, lungs, arteries, veins and capillaries. A unit (about one pint) of blood is drawn when you donate. The entire whole blood donation process, from registration to post-donation refreshments, takes less than an hour. The actual blood draw takes 5 to 10 minutes. Blood is truly the river of life and so many people in hospitals or taking chemo need this gift desperately. 1,100 donors are needed daily.

Please Give and Give often. Email to make an appointment for giving. Frequently asked questions:

Volunteers Needed at Elkins Elementary

Junior Achievement has been conducting an exceptional program for elementary children -- entertaining lessons about one's self, family, and community while at the same time teaching about jobs, businesses, use of money, and other basics in our society.

There are three sets of five 30-minute lessons designed specifically for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students. All of the materials for each lesson are provided by Junior Achievement. There are five classes for each of the three grades, i.e., 15 classes. One volunteer for each of the 15 classes is needed to present the five lessons to one class -- 30 minutes per week for five weeks. Scheduling is flexible for the volunteer and arranged with the teacher.

On Thursday, Feb 5, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, Priscilla Miller from Junior Achievement will explain the program at the church in Room 108 and answer any questions. Come and learn more about this exciting opportunity to serve Elkins and have a great time interacting with some wonderful kids.

Light refreshments and child care will be available for this event. If you have any questions before the meeting, please contact Priscilla Miller at 817-731-0838 or Jack Specht at 817-996-2510.

As you know, registration is available for most events prior to the event date. Your registration helps us to plan for attendance, supplies and staffing. This planning is crucial in making sure that all of our events are fun, quality events for our members, guests and community. It also ensures that we are able to wisely budget for events.

Without registration we may have to decrease the quantity and caliber of the events we offer. We don't want that to happen. How can you do your part? Please register ASAP for events you plan to attend.

We currently have many events available for registration at Please check back often as we will continue to add new events as their registration is available.
