What is the Welcome Team?

The “Welcome Team” concept came about in January 2004 as our church family made preparations to vacation our Azle Avenue residence. Our property was sold, and so, the Boswell High School administration allowed us to hold worship in the school cafeteria until our new facility as completed. However, the cafeteria’s environment was drab and “cold”. Unable to alter the borrowed space, we opted instead to create the friendliest, warmest atmosphere possible using our best resource: people. At that point, the Welcome Team was born!!

The Welcome Team was such a great success in improving the environment for worship that it has continued to serve at our current facility. The Welcome Team has strengthened the family spirit at Lighthouse Fellowship and will continue making the church feel like home to all that enter in the future.

The Welcome Team - What We Do

The welcome team provides an outwardly joyful greeting, information and guidance on how to connect into our church family. The welcome team provides a warm welcome to family and new friends, seats people, hands out bulletins, collects the offering and makes sure questions are answered. A warm welcome greatly enhances worship and community even before the worship service begins. For newcomers, it is the first impression that people have about how friendly our church body truly is.

If you would enjoy being part of the Welcome Team at Lighthouse Fellowship you are invited to contact the following team leaders for more information.

Door Greeter:
As a greeter you can be that smile and first impression for people as they arrive at Lighthouse Fellowship. Greeters experience the joy of saying hello to many new friends and family. Greeters are at the entrances 20 minutes prior the start of the service and greet until 10 minutes after the service begins or until most people have arrived. Greeters also help with the offering during the service. 4-6 greeters are needed for the 10:00 and 11:30 service, 2-4 greeters are needed for the 8:45 service.

Church Guides:
Do you like to meet new people and help to make them feel at home?  Our Guides seek to create a warm welcome for first time guests.  These volunteers do whatever it takes to make visitors feel like part of the Lighthouse Fellowship family and find their way around the church.

Sanctuary Greeters:
A Sanctuary Greeters goal is to make sure Lighthouse Fellowship family and new friends have a meaningful experience. During the worship service, sanctuary greeters hand out bulletins, greet, assist in finding seats and take the offering. They often have the privilege to be the first to identify and assist guests. 4-6 Sanctuary Greeters are needed at all services.

Children's Check-In:
Join the friendly Children's check-in staff!  As a children's check-in volunteer you will check children into the computer and print name tags with the help of the parents.  Check-In volunteers also direct guests towards their classes. This is a great way to get to know the names of a lot of members and guest at Lighthouse Fellowship.  2-3 Children's Check-In volunteers are needed at 10:00 and 11:30.

Parking Lot Attendant:
Can you spare an hour one Sunday per month to make a great first impression? Join our NEW Parking Lot Attendant team. We are looking for friendly people to help our family and new friends find a parking space and navigate the parking lot.

We need 10-20 volunteers per service to fill all of the positions and create a warm friendly experience for all our new and old friends at Lighthouse Fellowship so grab a friend and join us one service a month!
